Celebrity’s funeral turns into mass outreach 

Her death came as a shock to millions of fans. Her funeral turned out to be the largest Christian outreach ever in her nation and it serves as a testimony of how valuable it is for followers of Jesus to engage in the society. 

Duan, who works for the Royal Thai Consulate General in Malaysia is one of the people who was affected by the livestreaming of the funeral of the Thai actress and celebrity Nida Patcharaveerapong, commonly known as Tangmo.  

“I paid attention to everything she has said and was most impressed by the message that Christians do not fear death. I learned that God loves everyone. and I decided that I want to know him,” says Duan according to an article published in Christianity Today.

First tentmaking course in Portugal

Over two years ago I was asked by the Pentecostal European Mission group to speak on tentmaking at their upcoming missions course. Even though they did not have the finances to cover my flight, I made a commitment to be there as at the time it was under $900.

As the date came closer, the price of the flight was nearing $3000 which was way beyond my pay scale. Either it was by faith or by being reckless, I went ahead and booked it a few weeks before the course. By that time, it had dropped to $2000. The day before the flight, God provided for it in full.

Portugal Tentmaking Group

Before leaving for Portugal, I sent out a prayer letter to my “One Minute Prayer team” (established in 2001), asking for people to pray that we would find key people at the course who would step up to be a part of a tentmaking movement in Portugal.

Imagine my joy on meeting one lady engineer. She was so excited about the tentmaking model which she had never heard about. She wanted to be part of a team to promote and inspire people from Portugal to become tentmakers. She made me promise to return for future courses which she would help to promote. Lord willing of course.
